The President of the Republic of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, received the Minister of the Interior of the Republic of Angola, Eugénio Laborinho today, who handed him a letter from President João Manuel Gonçalves Lourenço with wishes for good health, well-being and prosperity of the Serbian people.
Thanking for the message, President Vučić asked Minister Laborinho to convey an invitation to President Lourenço to visit our country, in the name of the traditional friendship that has connected us since the time of former Yugoslavia and membership in the Non-Aligned Movement.
President Vučić asked Minister Laborinho to convey gratitude to the Angolan leadership for understanding Serbia's positions when it comes to Kosovo and Metohija and for supporting the territorial integrity and sovereignty of our country, because that testifies to respect for international law. He also advocated for greater cooperation between the two countries in international organizations.
President Vučić reminded that, as the Minister of Defense, he visited Angola in 2013 and that he saw then that there were many untapped opportunities for cooperation. In this regard, he said that steps should be taken to expand contract regulations.
Minister Laborinho also advocated for greater cooperation in the field of security. He also congratulated President Vučić on the successful fight against the COVID-19 pandemic, and discussed opportunities for exchanging experiences and for Serbia to help Angola in the fight against the corona virus.
